Birthday Bowling with Big Kenbowski and 35mm Black and White

It can be said that I am a big fan of bowling; I even have a pair of my own bowling shoes. Really any chance to bowl is good enough for me, but this time I wouldn't need a good excuse.... I had a great one; Ken's 30th bday.  Any occasion with old friends merits bringing along my Canon 35mm.  A lot was on the line tonight, there were rumors of a trophy... a big one too.  The stakes were made, the rules were set, let the bowling begin...

THE PLAYERS

THE Big Kenbowski
StinkBug Christian

Which Way'did They'go Wade Nevitt
Dave "Flesh Beard" Mercer

Mr. and Mrs. Josh Lankford

Opening at Lane 1 with back-to-back strikes from Mr. and Mrs. Lankford, the stage was set for the grudge match of the century.  Bug, proving his ability to 'never give up' set sights on Flesh Beard as the man to beat.  StinkBug came through in the end narrowing out a huge 10th frame vicory.  But all eyes were on Lane 2; who would take down the Big Kenbowski setting the bar commandingly high with a staggering 145 in the first round.  When all was thought to be lost, Jason - Helen Keller - Hudson would come from an amazing deficit to score a 177 in the final game.  Though his score would become the making of legends to come it would not be enough to defeat the Goliath that was THE Big Kenbowski.  The Kenbowski Cup was thus presented accordingly, and Kenbowski would be appropriately named this years Turkey-Thirty Kenbowski Cup Champion, Congratulations.

The Champion

In related news: shortly after presentation, the coveted trophy would go missing.  The mysterious disappearance will probably never be solved... but I have a feeling the trophy might show up soon.

Photographically, it was a good chance to put use my Canon f/1.8 50mm, almost like painting with light, a 1/15 or 1/30second exposure would create a very nice crisp photo.  Experimenting with exposure times I pushed the Ilford 400 negatives by 10% in attempts to create a rich grainier contrast.
